WHAT TO EXPECT
Dr. Teki and his team work together to offer the best possible journey to your perfect smile. We offer a service for every smile from the full range of straightening courses, to teeth whitening kits and composite bonding. Here's what to expect with the courses of treatment we offer.
STRAIGHTENING WITH CLEAR ALIGNERS
To establish the best treatment, your journey will begin with an initial consultation with Dr. Teki who will go through your treatment options, timeframes and costs.
When you return for your second visit, the surgery team will capture any scans, photos and x rays for your records. Once we have your completed scans, Dr Teki will be developing your treatment plan to achieve the best possible results, in the following weeks this plan will be emailed to you for your review and approval – of course if you have any questions you can call or email us.
Once you have approved your treatment plan your next appointment will be to attend the clinic for your attachments and for your first clear aligner brace fitting by Dr. Teki and the team. Treatments typically take between 3-18months.
Once you have completed your straightening treatment you will have the option to have composite bonding with Dr Teki. We will provide you with the best retainers available at the end of your treatment to help you keep them looking great for years to come!

COMPOSITE BONDING
Composite bonding starts with an initial consultation to see if your current smile is suitable for immediate bonding. If suitable we can then discuss your dream smile and the possibilities.
If your teeth are ready for immediate bonding your next appointment will be to visit Dr. Teki or one of our other dentists at the practice where we will take pre-treatment photographs, clean and condition your teeth ready for the application of bonding glue. We then apply composite and mould to the desired and agreed shape then polish and give final shaping. Last step is to take post treatment photographs - that’s it, No filling, No drilling, No damage!
Great results!

TEETH WHITENING
You must come to the practice for an initial consultation to check that your teeth are suitable for whitening. Moulds are then taken and we will make you a second appointment to collect your moulds and review your treatment plan.
To achieve the best results, the whitening process can take between 3-8 weeks.
-
Do I have to have a consultation?Yes, all new patients are required to have a consultation prior to any treatment
-
Why have a consultation? So that we can ensure we manage your expectations and that you are suitable to have the treatment requested
-
How much is a consultation?Consultations are carried out by Dr Teki are £95 This fee is not refundable and do not come off your treatment cost
-
What happens during the consultation? One of our friendly and experieced dentists will have a chat to hear what your concerns are and he will give his recommendation and advise of costs and payment plans and you will have the opportunity to ask any outstanding questions
-
Do I have to decide at consultation if I want to go ahead with the treatment or not?No, you can go home and think about it
-
What straightening do you offer?Clear aligners which straighten your teeth without wearing conventional metal braces.
-
How does the straightening work?We use a series of clear, removable custom-made aligners to move your teeth
-
How long will I have to have clear aligners? This is case dependant and will be advised at consultation
-
Can I have straightening on my top or bottom or does it have to be both?Straightening is priced for both top and bottom teeth, there is no option for just one. The reason for this is because the aligners will change the bite and shape of the mouth and therefore the top and bottom need to be moved together to ensure they are even
-
How often do I need to wear my clear aligner each day?It is advised to wear your aligner for a minimum of 22 hours a day. The aligners should only be removed for eating and brushing teeth
-
What happens if I don't wear my aligner?Your teeth will move back to their original position
-
Will my teeth move back after I finish the straightening course? If you continue to wear your aligner as directed then your teeth will not move back
-
Can I eat with my aligners in?No, as this is unhygienic
-
Can I wear my aligners when I am sleeping?Yes, it is essential to wear them during the night
-
How do I know when to change to the next aligner? We recommend changing your aligner every 2 weeks and this should be achievable if you wear your aligner for the duration. Some people may find that their aligner feels loose in which case you can move on to the next aligner
-
Do the aligners hurt?It can be quite uncomfortable when you initially change each aligner but as the teeth move it will become more comfortable
-
I lost my retainer, what do I do?"Contact us immediately
-
Do I have to wear the aligner even after my teeth are straight?Yes. To ensure the teeth don’t move back to their original position, you will need to wear your aligner every night during sleep continuously
-
How do I clean my aligners?Brush with a toothbrush and a little toothpaste morning and evening
-
Do I need to whiten my teeth before or after composite bonding? If you want your teeth whiter then you will need to start whitening prior to your composite bonding appointment to ensure you reach the desired shade as you cannot whiten the composite
-
Do you do in-house whitening or home kits?We offer professional home whitening kits only
-
Do I need a consultation for teeth whitening?Yes, all patients require a consultation in case there are any issues with the teeth and the whitening will cause erosion etc
-
What is composite bonding? It is a mouldable tooth-like material which is hardened once desired shape is achieved to give an even appearance to the natural teeth
-
Does composite bonding hurt? No, there is no pain whatsoever
-
Are there any side effects to composite bonding? No
-
Is this safe to have composite bonding done whilst breast feeding?Yes
-
How many appointments will I need for composite bonding?Three. The consultation, treatment, and follow up
-
Can I have composite bonding if my teeth aren't straight? No. The reason for this is because the tooth will be too thick, the bite may not be correct, it won’t look right and will highlight any wonkiness in the teeth but most importantly – it isn’t possible to build on the tooth
-
How long does composite bonding last?Typically, 5 years but this is case dependant
-
After 5 years will composite bonding just fall off?No, the composite will slowly erode over time so there won’t be a significant difference
-
Can I have composite bonding whiter than my teeth? The bonding needs to be a perfect match to the rest of your teeth which is why we will always advise you to whiten your teeth to the desired shade after your consultation and before your treatment
-
How many teeth should I have bonded? This is down to the patient. It could be one tooth that has chipped or you may want all of the teeth that are visible to be done
-
Can I have composite bonding first and then have straightening? No, as the teeth will move and the bonding may not line up. Also, when the bonding has come off, you want your natural teeth to be straight
-
Can I get composite bonding on top and bottom teeth? This is case dependent and would be discussed with Dr.Teki at your consultation
-
Whats the difference between composite bonding and veneers?Composite bonding is built on top of the natural tooth so there is no damage. Veneers need to have the natural teeth filed down to allow space for them to be bonded onto your teeth
-
I already have composite bonding - can I have this redone?Yes you can. The price per tooth for removal varies between £50 - £250 per tooth. Exact price will be given at time of consultation.
-
Are there different ways of having composite bonding to give different results?Yes, some people prefer the veneer look, others prefer a more natural final outcome. We can cater to both options and there is no price difference
-
I have gaps, can I have composite bonding to fill them?"Yes, as long as the teeth are straight then we can fill gaps between teeth
-
Is there any damage or side effects to composite bonding? There is no damage or side effects
-
How long does it take to do composite bonding?Approximately 30 minutes per tooth
-
I have veneers, can I have them replaced with composite bonding?"No, but you can have them replaced with new veneers. You can only have composite bonding attached to natural teeth
-
Do you offer payment plans? We offer an interest free payment plan for our straightening packages. There is no payment plan option for composite bonding.
